O.G's potty training has been going on for awhile. But thankfully, he's learning how to communicate what he needs to do. And it's been really funny lately because he's pointing out things that he's never seen before. It's like those pictures that you see at the mall where you have to stare at it for a long time to see a hidden image. But this is more a hidden clay image that Owen is seeing. Here's an example of our one-two word conversation we had recently:
Picture this:
OG sitting on the toilet. Dad looking at him ready w/wet wipes.
Dialogue:
Dad: Ok OG go poo-poo
OG: Yes daddy.
Dad: Go poo-poo okay. Hold your shirt up.
OG: (Squeeze)
OG: (w/ his finger pointing to the stuff in the toilet bowl) Chalocolate!
OG: (then he recognizes something else) Dinosaur!
OG!: CHalaCOLATE DINOSAUR (w/ a face of accomplishment)!
Dad: LOL! Yes son, it's a chocolate dinosaur.
Two days later, he has the same conversation with Aileen but instead of seeing the hidden image of a Dinosaur; this time he says "Crocka-Dial!" I guess he didn't have to tell us the color!
My thoughts are, hey at least he's communicating his artistic imagination.
